Worth the Drive

Which gas station is actually cheapest once you price in the drive?

Cheap gas three miles away isn’t cheap. Worth the Drive ranks nearby stations by what the stop really costs you — the fill-up, the fuel burned getting there, vehicle wear, optionally your time, minus the rewards you actually hold.

Common questions

Why does a station show no price?

Prices come from Google’s fuel data, which doesn’t cover every station. Rather than guess, the app leaves it blank. Tap any station to enter the price yourself — your entry always wins, and it’s saved for next time.

Why does it need my location?

To find stations near you and measure the driving detour to each. It’s used while the app is open and never tracked. See the privacy policy.

The recommendation skips a cheaper station.

Usually one of three reasons: the detour costs more than it saves, the station is a warehouse club you haven’t marked yourself a member of (the pump won’t take your card), or its cheapest posted grade is below your car’s octane range. Tap any station to see the full breakdown.

How do I get a true MPG instead of the sticker number?

Log your fill-ups (odometer + gallons) under the car card’s “Fill-up log”. After two full fill-ups the app measures your real MPG and offers it for the cost model with one tap.

Can I add more than one car?

Yes — Settings keeps a garage. Tap the car name on the main screen to switch; prices, octane, and recommendations follow the active car.
